Smart production proces
Willpro has its own production facilities. But what kind of machines do we have there and why is it, as we call it, a smart production process? Here we will tell you more about our production process.
First, we have listed the different machines for you. Then we will tell you more about high mix, low volume production. And finally, we describe the advantages of our own designed software.
The machinery of our production facilities
Our production process includes eighteen metalworking machines and two loading robots. The machines we have at our disposal are:
- 11 milling machines incl. 5-axis CNC machining centre | With a maximum of 2 metres;
- 6 grinding machines | With a maximum of 3 metres;
- 2 sawing machines (fully automatic) | With a maximum diameter of 400 mm;
- 3 lathes.
Three of our machines are equipped with loading robots. These fully automated systems ensure that the machine can run for 8 to 16 hours without human intervention.
The production proces
The production process is based on high mix, low volume production. This refers to a large variety of products in small quantities. A typical series size is therefore 10 to 100 pieces.
This means that our machines are set up to quickly switch between the different products that we produce. This makes us flexible and allows us to respond quickly to requests from our customers. Our CNC machining centres are equipped with zero point clamping systems that allow clamping devices to be changed within minutes instead of hours.
Digital production
Not only the hardware is important in the production process, the software is also becoming increasingly important. We use an ERP system from MKG, Solidworks and Edgecam for our CAD/CAM and a tool inventory management system from Gühring to monitor all the inventory and stock.
We have also developed our own software, this software connects our ERP system, the CAD/CAM and our machines. This allows us to closely monitor the planning and intervene in time if necessary.
In addition, the system increases the reproducibility of the machine parts of our customers. It documents all important setting data, so that we can quickly set up the machines for repeated orders. This reduces downtime and prevents errors.
